PM Kisan: Beneficiary Status, eKYC, and Instalment Dates in 2025

PM Kisan, short for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, is a central government income support scheme that transfers ₹6,000 per year to eligible farming families in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, directly into their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. Run by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and implemented through state governments, PM Kisan currently covers over 9 crore farming families. This page covers how to check your PM Kisan beneficiary status, how to complete eKYC, how to view the beneficiary list, and what to do if an instalment is not received.

What is PM Kisan Yojana?

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a 100% centrally funded income support scheme launched on 24 February 2019. It was introduced to supplement the financial needs of landholder farming families, particularly small and marginal farmers, to meet input costs, household expenses, and allied agricultural needs between harvest seasons.

Under the scheme, eligible farmer families receive ₹2,000 per instalment, three times a year (approximately every four months), directly via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into their Aadhaar-linked savings accounts. Originally limited to small and marginal farmers (under 2 hectares), the scheme was expanded in June 2019 to cover all landholding farmer families regardless of holding size. A mandatory eKYC requirement was introduced in 2022, farmers who have not completed eKYC do not receive installments. The scheme celebrated its 19th installment release in 2025, with cumulative transfers exceeding ₹3.24 lakh crore to beneficiaries since launch.
